Here’s the thing about the gratitude journal – if you are only writing in it because you think you should; if you’re writing in it with the expectation of reward; if you’re writing in it grudgingly; or if you’re finding it really hard to have anything to be grateful for, then let me guess – it’s not working for you?
The whole point of your gratitude journal should be to focus your mind on what is going right for you!
Its not about magical thinking, its not about spells and potions or “secrets” that will instantly give you all the results you want.
Its about where you put your focus.
What you focus on is what grows in your life. Where you focus your mind is where you focus your attention, where you focus your attention is where you focus your energy and where you focus your energy is where you get results.
So even if you feel that the only thing you have to be grateful for today is that you are still breathing – be grateful to that with all your heart!
